Tijn Spoormakers
DVM, Dipl.ECVS, Cert.ISELP
Tijn qualified from Utrecht University, The Netherlands, in 1998 and started his residency in the large animal surgery department. Trained in equine and farm animal surgery, Tijn became a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2003. He worked as veterinary surgeon in a private practice, Dierenkliniek Emmeloord, in the north of the Netherlands. In 2008 Tijn moved to Lingehoeve Diergeneeskunde, one of the largest equine referral hospitals in The Netherlands. Tijn was member of the examination committee of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons from 2009 to 2014, which he chaired in 2013. At the end of 2013 he passed the International Society Equine Locomotor Pathology (ISELP) examination. Tijn has authored and contributed to several articles in peer-reviewed journals. His main areas of interests are equine orthopaedic/head surgery, equine ophthalmology and lameness examination.
