This will then be followed by the obligatory Wine & Cheese Reception allowing for attendees to socialise with colleagues and the speakers/instructors.
On the second day, 7 hours of practical sessions will give attendees plenty of opportunity to put theory into practice on live horses and equine specimens and to ask questions in a relaxed atmosphere in small groups (2 – 4 attendees), all under the supervision of the specialists. Plenty of clinical cases will be available which will be examined together with the experts. Attendees will furthermore be able to choose which diagnostic and therapeutic techniques they would like to have demonstrated and train on equine specimens:
- Ophthalmologic & Surgical Procedures – Attendees to choose: Nerve blocks, lavage system placement, eyelid laceration repair (emergency situations), keratotomy, temporary tarsorrhaphy & enucleation
- Ocular Ultrasound- live horses
- Examination of Horses with Eye Problems – live horses
- Pre-Purchase Examination Case Discussions
Attendees can furthermore bring challenging or undiagnosed cases to the course, which will be worked up by the attendees under the supervision of the specialists. At the end of Day 1 a vitrectomy demonstration might be given on a clinical case.
